A Musical Weekend!

My son's senior year is winding down quickly. I can't believe how time flies. He has always been very involved in music and I am going to miss seeing him in all his concerts and performances with school. It seems like just yesterday he was a first grader playing the piano in his elementary school talent show and now he is graduating. Over the weekend he was in his high school's Battle of the Bands contest. He and a couple of buddies threw a band together in a few weeks and were surprised when they actually won the competition! The first photo is them singing "That Thing You Do" from the movie, and in the second photo they are performing a more serious song. No heavy metal here...The third and fourth photos are his last performance with his high school jazz band. They just returned from a trip to Nashville where they took first place in a big contest. They sound wonderful. I will sure miss all of this, just like "sports Mommies" must miss seeing their kids play on the "home team" after they grow up. I guess it is time for the next stage in our lives, not better or worse, just different! Have a great week, and if you have little ones at home--give them a hug and enjoy their "littleness", before you know it, they will be all grown up!

OOh Cris I was getting all teary eyed reading that, My son has just started high school and although he isn't musical, he is sporty and I love to watch him swim, cross country etc I really don't want that to end, I just want my kids to stay my babies forever ;)

It sure was a fun night. It does go so fast. I can't believe how big they all are now. It will be interesting to see what happens next. I don't want to see my NIno that big yet thought. :O

Awww, so sweet. I do try to enjoy every minute because it does go fast. I loved the Smore stick story! I laughed out loud and read it to my husband. That's so something my boys would do. I'll have to tell them in the morning.
