I had this painting idea in my mind and couldn't rest til I got it on canvas. Thief of My Heart is on a deep sided canvas with decorative paper on all sides and lots of crackle and antiquing for texture! I hope to list it tonight along with 2 ACEO's. These are my first ACEO's. I found the tiny canvases over the weekend when Laura and I had to go to a special art store in the city for her supplies. What do people actually do with them? I am kind of curious about that. They are cute, but only 2.5"X3.5".

This week is going by fast since we were off of school on Monday. Too bad I have a dentist appointment on Friday though! Ugh! I am such a baby about that!

This is a little bit how I am feeling today since Tara headed back to school after being home for a month long winter break. I really like how this one turned out. I experimented with some different techniques this time, using charcoal first and then painting, then some more charcoal shading.

This painting is available on Ebay along with a couple of small 4"X4" canvases with ribbons strung through them. They would make perfect little Valentines.

Back to work tomorrow. Everyone have a great week!

New Valentine Art

I hope everyone is having a nice weekend. Here are a couple of sweet little Valentine paintings I just finished. They look cute together, but I am selling them separately.

I had my parents over last night and I deep fried a bunch of crab rangoons and about a million chicken wings and I put the wings in bowls of several different sauces and we all tried to decide which ones we liked best. We washed it down with bottles of cold beer and it was a lot of fun! It was very unhealthy, but I got a deep fryer for Christmas and so I had to break it in. ha ha

Tara heads back to Mizzou tomorrow and I will sure miss having her around. We mixed up a bunch of soup mixes in individual portions for her today so she can have easy hot lunches this winter. I used recipes that use potato flakes, powdered milk, chicken granuals, spices and such. The potato soup is acually very good, and so easy to prepare--just mix with water and simmer.

Hi Friends! I just wanted to stop in and show you the new Valentine paintings I just listed on EBay! I can't talk long because Jordan is waiting on the computer to do a paper for school.

I am getting ready to make a turkey dinner with all the trimmings---yummy! I better get going! Have a great Sunday!

Blogger Award!

I recieved this Kreativ (creative) Blogger award all the way from beautiful Italy. It comes from my friend, Cinzia of Pistachios and Hazelnuts! Check out her blog, she always has lots of interesting photos. Oh, and be sure to use the Google translator near the top of the blog if you do not speak Italian!

I have been burning the midnight oil painting tonight. I have three new Valentines Day themed paintings that I hope to finish up and post tomorrow! Good Night!

New Paintings

I have been experimenting with different types of paintings. I know they both have girls waving their arms in the air, lol, but one is all bright pastel colors with pearlized paint on the snow and a gloss finish. The other has more subtle hues with a crackly antique finish. I love using the deep sided canvases because the painting can continue around the sides! I have listed these both on Ebay. Which style do you like the best?

Well, Jordan and I go back to school tomorrow--Boo Hoo, No more laying around for us! Tara and Laura are still on winter break a little longer. Oh well, I feel like a hibernating bear who needs to shed some blubber! I think I gained about 5 lbs over the holidays! ugh! Have a good week everyone.

I finally got back to painting! These two are on chunky deep sided stretched canvases that can even sit on their own. This little girl took a moonlit walk in the woods and made friends with a young deer. The colors are muted and wintry and I covered the fronts and all four sides of each with bee's wax for a mellow textured look. I will be listing these soon on Ebay. I am still toying with looking into Etsy but haven't really researched it yet. Any suggestions?

I haven't taken down my Christmas decorations yet because I hate how sad and boring the house looks then! Sometimes it helps to have something new to display to "soften the blow". Like a floral arrangement or pretty throw for the couch, or even some new artwork! I guess I will wait until NEXT weekend to take down my decorations. ugh! Have a great weekend everyone!
