I'm so Thankful!

I have so many blessings to count this Thanksgiving season. Three of them are pictured here (Tara 22, Jordan 18, Laura 21)! My family is happy and healthy, we have a roof over our heads and food to eat. That is all that really matters, isn't it?

I hope you all have many blessings to count right now. Remember, with the holiday season upon us--Don't sweat the small stuff! It's all about enjoying your families and traditions, they don't have to be perfect! The traditions OR the families!!

Here is a picture of my silly sister Jennifer (hot tamale art studio) on Thanksgiving. She was trying to demonstrate Santa Lucia for us and hot wax was dripping in her hair! I have three sisters and we all have so many laughs together~

NEW PAINTINGS!

I have 2 new paintings to show you. They are both 8"X10" flat canvas panels that look wonderful framed! I used heavy body acrylics for lots of texture. They are on Ebay now, come check them out! Well, the kids got all the decorations down from the closet now, time to go!! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend and happy shopping!

Large Snow Painting

This magical snow family became very lifelike at night. The little fox is a bit curious! A mitten left behind is a reminder of the child who created them.

I recently listed this painting on Ebay. It is a very large one for me--16"X20". I used quality acrylics so there is lots of great texture! There are many photos on the Ebay listing to show this.

This would make a great gift to be enjoyed all winter long! Remember to also check out my Etsy shop where I have lots of inexpensive goodies for the holidays!

Christmas Paintings!

"Spoiled Rotten" is a very spoiled kitty all snug and cozy by a warm fire.

"The Little Match Girl" was one of my favorite Christmas stories as a child. I always felt so bad for her and appreciated my nice warm bed afterward. Gosh, I didn't realize the contrast in the two paintings I did this week!

Both of these will be listed on Ebay sometime this week.

First Winter Painting

I finally got around to painting a new canvas. It is a little larger than I usually do--11"x14"x.75" stretched, but I needed the size to do a snowy landscape! I used some quality, heavy bodied acrylics for this one and I love the results.

You can just feel the bite in the wind as these kids bring home the Christmas tree. The shadows are getting long as they journey toward the warmth of home! It doesn't show up on the photograph, but I added some subtle sparkling in the highlighted snowy areas for extra "frostiness". I think I may list this one tonight, since I haven't had any paintings up in a couple of days.

Please check out my Etsy shop, I have lots of inexpensive treasures there for holiday shopping!

Have a great week!

LOTS OF NEW GOODIES!

I have been busy listing many new pendants in my Etsy shop. I am really happy with how they turned out! The domed glass is crystal clear and magnifies the mini print underneath. I added little beads to match each pendant. They are nicely priced for your holiday gifting! You may even want to keep one for yourself! Only $8.50 or 2 for $15! Come check them out~~I just finished listing them all!!

Sparkly New Gifts!

I have been hard at work getting lots of "pretties" together to have in my Etsy shop for your holiday shopping! I have several little glass dome pendants made. The dome shaped glass kind of magnifies the artwork! I hope to get these put on cords along with some dangly charms this weekend. Then I plan to get back to some paintings--I miss painting!

I completed all of my soldered glass ornaments. They turned out really cute and they even have tiny little charms on them that say "Made with Love". They are pretty labor intense, so I guess you could say they are a labor of love! I am starting to list them in my shop tonight. I will have 12 of these, so get them while you can. I doubt I will have time to make any more this year--they are pretty time consuming. Have a great weekend!

More New Ornaments!

This is an example of my latest ornaments. I used mini prints of my original work along with authentic vintage Christmas sheet music (and other snippets) sandwiched between two pieces of glass and soldered together. These ornies have two sides and are embellished with glass beads and ribbon for a "one of a kind" treasure give as a gift or keep for yourself! I just listed the first one on Etsy and will be listing more as I finish them and have time to photograph and list them. I think I will have 12 in all--and when they're gone--they're gone! Have a great week, everyone!

Surprises for Etsy!

I am busy working on lots of surprises for my Etsy shop. I hope to stock it up in the next few weeks with many one of a kind treasures for your holiday shopping. I still have my very inexpensive ($2) mini prints in the shop and a few original folk art paintings. I will be adding lots of ornaments, pendants, etc. featuring my artwork. Also, I have been creating some cute little needle felted animals while I watch TV (dangerous for the fingers). I'll let you know when I am ready to stock some new things. The link to my Etsy shop is at the top of this page or in the sidebar. Have a wonderful week!

Tiger in the Leaves

My latest painting is Tiger in the Leaves. He is enjoying the sights, sounds, and smells of Autumn! This will be on Ebay later this week.

Fox in the Golden Woods

Today was a beautiful day! My family went to Deutsch Country Days in a small town an hour outside of St. Louis. It is a working German farm where they demonstrate tons of early American crafts, woodworking, cooking, guns, etc. There were some beautiful things to see, as well as yummy German food. I ate way too much. Besides an authentic German lunch, we had fresh sugared kettle corn, chocolate dipped molasses puffs, anise springerles, and homemade root beer!

I love the golden glow of this time of year, the way the sun hits the fall foliage--casting a golden hue to everything. This painting, Fox in the Golden Woods, was inspired by how I see things during my favorite season. It will be on Ebay sometime this week. The link is at the top of my page.

Let's Eat Spaghetti!

This is my latest painting, Let's Eat Spaghetti. It is pretty self explanatory for the Thanksgiving holiday. I wanted to show it close up so you could the little tear on this sad child's face. After all, he or she raised it from a little chick! I will list this one on Ebay tonight.

Little Red

I haven't painted a Little Red Riding Hood in quite awhile. When my daughters were little, I made little red wool capes with hoods like this. They loved them and looked so cute dashing through the woods in them! Luckily there are no wolves residing in our woods--only deer, foxes, raccoons, and bobcats! This Little Red will be up on Ebay sometime this week~

Under the Haystack

Does anyone ever see haystacks like this anymore? I live near several farms, but the hay or straw is bundled into large discs. I love to see a field of them on my way home from work and how the waning sunlight casts long shadows of them on the fields. The hues of autumn are my favorite by far! These little girls are resting with their kitties Under the Haystack. I will be posting this on Ebay soon.

Moonlight Meow

Here is my latest painting, Moonlight Meow. There is so much texture in the paint and finish that it was hard to avoid the glare in the bottom left corner. This may be the last of my Halloween themed paintings. It will be up on Ebay later tonight. Have a great weekend!

My Lonely Spot

I found some of old canvas panel paintings and painted over them with brown paint before creating some new art! The panels had holes drilled in the top so I strung them up with black polka dot ribbons so that they can be hung anywhere, just like a plaque, no frame is needed. The first one, My Lonely Spot, features a little girl (kind of a creepy girl) enjoying some Halloween props. The second one, Pulling the Turkeys, has a girl pulling a wagon full of confused turkeys. Will they end up on the table? The third one is on a stretched canvas and is called, After the Party, because sometimes it isn't worth going to a Halloween party when you consider the walk home! These will all be on Ebay soon! Have a wonderful weekend!

Candy Corn Princess

Today was a damp and dreary day. The best kind for settling in and finishing some new Halloween themed paintings~

The Candy Corn Princess has three little candy corn kitties. Even though the little Halloween Sprite can fly on her own, she would rather take a Crow Ride. Candy corn is strewn on the dance floor as Ms. Pumpkin and her Suitors get all the attention!

They all have some collage elements and lots of bright colors! I might just list all of these tonight! The link to my Ebay is at the top of this page~~ Have a great week~~

Oooooh Devil Cats!

HALLOWEEN!

Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year! I love the decorations and the chill in the air! It is so much fun to create Halloween themed art.

I hope everyone is getting in the "back to school mode" if you have students in your home. I have three in college this year, all living at home and commuting to three different colleges. Everyone's school and work schedules are so different that we have to play "musical cars" in the driveway every day! Dinners have to hold warm for at least one or two each evening. There are books and laptops and cords and cell phones and itouches (or whatever they are) everywhere~but I know this will pass and one day there will only be two cars in the driveway instead of 5 and dinners for two will be a cinch--until then I enjoy having my kids all here and being involved in their day to day lives. Luckily we all seem to enjoy each other most of the time and have a lot of laughs when we have a free moment together!

These three paintings will be on Ebay sometime this week!

Wednesday, September 8, 2010

My sister (Tamale Cat art studio), daughter (LauraBeth art) and I recently visit the Missouri History Museum to see the Vatican Splendors Exhibit. There were many beautiful things to see, many of the items were away from the Vatican for the first time in history. The visit inspired this serene painting, Holy Child. It is on Ebay now. The link is at the top of the page. Have a wonderful week!

99 Cent Starting Bids!!

Two new little paintings with starting bids of only 99 Cents!! As Always, FREE SHIPPING!!

Sunday, September 5, 2010

I have three new paintings to show you. They are all already up on Ebay. The first one is called "Peacock Princess" and features a peacock and his mate perched on the back of a princess' chair. The kitty is not happy about this! The second one, "Purple Frill" is my first Halloween themed painting and the last one,"Orchard Guard" has some vintage sheet music under the paint.

I hope everyone is having a nice holiday weekend. The weather is beautiful here in the St. Louis area! Unfortunately I have my first cold of the school year. We have only been in school for two weeks and the sniffles and sneezes have hit us~

Signs of Fall?

The nights have been just a tad cooler this week, a few leaves have begun to scatter on the ground, the garden mums are bursting into buds, a barred owl laughed outside my bedroom window in the wee hours of the morning...could it be...maybe...there are signs of autumn among us? This little kitty seems to think so. This painting is available on Ebay tonight.

NEW PAINTINGS and 99 cent SALE!

I have two new paintings to show you! The first one is called Heavenly Hand and features a guardian angel gently protecting a little girl. The colors are very rich!

The second one is called Goldfinches and Coneflowers. This is a scene I witness every day right now. The seed heads have formed on my many coneflowers and the goldfinches are eagerly pigging out on them! Perhaps they are storing some of the seeds for winter, but it doesn't appear that way. Both of these paintings will be up for grabs tonight on Ebay. The link is at the top of this page.

If you haven't checked it out yet, I still have several items with a bid of only 99 cents from my "wake up" sale. Those auctions end soon. Have a great weekend everyone~

99 CENT Wake up Sale!!

It is the last couple of weeks of summer and I am so tired of the heat! Is anyone feeling as "hum drum" as I am? We are all reluctantly moving toward getting our kids back to school and our families back in the swing of things.

I thought I would try to liven things up with a 99 cent auction sale. I am listing several things for a starting price of only 99 cents!
There are two cute little plaques with ribbon hangers and several resin topped pendents using mini prints of my artwork. I have ONE of them pictured here! Mermaid Twins!

A week at the beach inspired this painting. I'm pretty sure I saw a pair of mermaid twins frolicking in the distance as I sat on the sand! Here are some close ups of their sweet expressions. Listing on Ebay tonight!
