New Paintings!
I couldn't stay away from painting much longer. I got a new book for Christmas chock full of art to look at. I love painting my own versions of famous paintings. What if Vermeer's "Girl with the Pearl Earring" would have had a kitty to love. Maybe she wouldn't have started modeling for artists at such a young age and gotten herself in trouble. But then I guess she wouldn't have been given that exquisite pearl earring...
I was anxious to try the new watercolors I got with a gift card. This is my first attempt at it. It is a mini painting, 3"X3", mounted on cardboard and comes with a small wooden easel. I will be listing these on Ebay tonight. Come check them out. The links are always at the top of this page. Have a safe and happy New Year!

Holiday Fun!
It seems like in my family everyone either creates art or creates music--well...I mean at least we try! At our family Christmas gathering we had a rolicking time with 4 guitars, a keyboard and a drum. We sang and danced the night away to Christmas carols! Of course there was a healthy dose of eating, drinking, and gift opening in between songs! This photo is a candid of my son, Jordan, playing guitar and my niece, Rosalie dancing her heart out. Rosalie is the daughter of Jennifer of Tamale Cat Art.
It has been a glorious holiday season--I hope you all had a wonderful time with family and friends. After a trip to Micheal's with a gift card yesterday, I am inspired to get back to creating art. I hope to have something to show you soon~

Merry Christmas!
This will probably be my last post until after the holidays!
This photo was taken about 1994 or 5 of my own three children. What I wouldn't have given for a digital camera back then to capture a photo for the annual Christmas card. They look really sweet on the photos, but believe me, it was a nightmare in between takes! I think little brother may have got hit with the rolling pin, and the dining room floor was covered with flour and candy sprinkles! ugh! I think I went through a whole 24 exposures to get this photo.
To everyone in blogland, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas and a Happy New Year!
In case you were wondering, the photo below was taken in 1964.

Christmas Memory
I am taking a little break from painting to spend some time enjoying the holidays. I'd like to share this old photo of my sisters and I posing for a Christmas picture. I am in the middle, flanked by my sisters, Kerry and Susan. My mom made all of our dresses, as she did most of our clothes. Can you guess the year? Take note of the white brick and polished brass. The other furnishings were Danish modern. I will reveal the year in the next post.

Stay Tuned for Fun Little Gifts in the Making!
I hope to get these in my Etsy shop soon. They are sweet little lockets that really open! I still have to put the diamond glaze over the images and string them on to black leather cords with the silver cherubs and leaves! I think I will list them at only $10--so check back if you need a fun little one of a kind gift!

The Napping Tree
This painting is listed on Ebay now. It is a large 11"X14" stretched canvas. I love the old live oak trees with all the moss hanging from them. They look like the perfect place for a nap. I live too far north to enjoy these majestic trees, so I painted one!

Watching Over Us
Here is a new painting. It is a 6"X12"X.75" stretched canvas. There is lots of texture in the snow and the angel's wings are made from vintage sheet music pages. The sun has just set on this snowy night and the children are blessed to have a guardian angel watching over them. This painting is available on Ebay now.

New Paintings!
Such a gloomy day here in the St. Louis area, but I like it! I have two paintings to show you. The first one, "Face to Face", shows a young man with a dilemma. Mom is at home with the stove ready--oh my!
The second painting is called, "A Little Birdie Told Me". This young lady is not sure she likes what she hears, but you know how rumors are! Both of these paintings will be available on Ebay soon. They were a little difficult to photograph because of all the texture and the gloss finish. Sometimes it causes a glare that I can't avoid. Have a great week everyone!
