I put all of the names of the bloggers on pieces of paper--two pieces if my contest appeared on their blog. Then I had my daughter pull one out! The winner of the 4th of July painting is Kim Langston-Muniz! Congratulations! The painting was shipped this afternoon. I am hoping it will reach you by the 4th, if not, it will be soon after!

This little painting below was posted on Ebay a couple of days ago if you would like to take a look. It is called Fireflies. I really like how the kitty turned out~

I have a really busy week ahead. Three parties! I am having my work friends over with their kids for a pool party/luncheon tomorrow. Friday, my son is having about 25 teens over for swimming and hot dogs, and Saturday I am hosting my family for the July4th barbecue and fireworks! yeah! It's all good! If I don't post before then, have a safe holiday!

SUMMER INSPIRATION

I took a couple of pictures outside to show you what inspired me to paint my latest garden themed paintings. My flowers seem to be in full bloom and I have baby tomatoes, cucumbers, and squash. I have been picking loads of fresh cilantro for guacamole and basil for pesto. Yummy!!

The first photo is the path leading to the main patio. The Tiki Bar overlooks another deck around the pool. The teens love to gather around the fireplace and make s'mores. The other photo is of my favorite spot on the swinging bench under a shady pergola. It overlooks a gold fish pond and has a view of the next "mountain" over.

My paintings are displayed with these wonderful chunky frames I found on clearance at Hobby Lobby for $6.15 each! The paintings look so neat with their crackle and antique finish in them. I will be listing the paintings on eBay soon, sorry but the frames are not included.

NEW ART PRINTS IN MY ETSY SHOP!!

ONLY $6.00 EACH AND FREE SHIPPING FOR A LIMITED TIME!!

I have been working on this for quite a while. I wanted to make collecting artwork as affordable as possible! If you missed out on a painting you liked--now is your chance to have the print!

These are quality prints using Ebson inks and 45lb. Canon matte photo paper. I am still stocking my Etsy shop so keep watching as I continue to update.

The image sizes vary according to the size of the original painting. Each print is on 8.5"X11" paper with a natural white border. These can easily be cut down to fit into an 8"X10" frame leaving the border as sort of a natural "matting"! They look awesome in simple black or white frames. This is a fun and inexpensive way to be able to rotate and change your artwork with the seasons (or your mood)!

Of course, I will continue to create original folk art paintings on canvas and offer them on my eBay auctions. The art prints will be available in my Etsy shop...Check it out! Links are at the top of this page. Have a wonderful rest of the week!

RAINY DAY AND FRIDA

Well, I was going to take the kids car shopping today, but it poured down raining all day, so I painted instead. My mom made a CD of old 40's music for me, you know, like "I'll Be Seeing You" and all those sad ones. If you have ever cried through "The Notebook" you surely know that song. Anyway, between the gloomy rain and the melancholy music, I just felt I had to paint a little Frida. I do like the bright colors! It will be up for grabs on eBay--and with a starting bid of only $9.99!

JUST WORN OUT!

This has been such a busy weekend and I am just plain worn out! I feel a bit like the girl who just wants to stay in bed curled up with her kitty. She is thinking about all the stuff she needs to get up and do, but she just can't seem to get up! I will be listing this painting on eBay tonight.

The second painting is a gift, but I just thought I would share it with you. My husband's nephew just had his second baby girl, and I am sure she is a princess!

I hope everyone had a nice weekend. I guess I will be back to car shopping this week, ugh! I was helping my daughter (19) and son (17) find cars last week and my own car broke down! That was really ironic. Well, now we got it out of the shop and I guess it is time to look again. It gets old playing musical cars around here.

STILL FEELING "BEACHY"

This photo is 12 years old, long before I had a digital camera, and it is still one of my very favorites. Jordan (left) and his cousin, Rory found the most perfect starfish on the beach, (with a little sneaky help from Dad and Souvenir City). They worked all afternoon, becoming brown as nuts, building the grandest sand castle for their beautiful starfish to sit atop! It is a memory I will always cherish. This painting is inspired by that wonderful day in 1997.

I will list this painting tonight on eBay. You can find the link at the top of the page.

Professional Development Day

My sister Jennifer (Hot Tamale Art Studio) and I got together for lunch today to brainstorm about how to best update our Etsy shops. We looked at supplies and did some number crunching, and I think we came up with a plan! With the economy being so tough, we want to be able to offer some fun artwork to collect at a really good value. We both still plan to offer our original paintings on eBay, but this Etsy revamp will be something new for both of us.

While we had a nice lunch, my Jordan entertained her Anthony with squirt guns and snow cones! They had as much fun as we did.~~~~We really didn't talk "business" long! ha ha

Stayed tuned, we will let you know when our newly revamped Etsy shops open!

BEACHY PAINTINGS

I've been in sort of a beachy mood, maybe because I am out of school for the summer and we just put a new thatched roof on our Tikki Bar by the pool. Now I am ready for that first summer margarita! I love the ocean even though I am about as far away from it as I can get, here in Missouri! These paintings were inspired by when my children were little at the beach. They could spend hours just chasing and dancing with the waves and never tire of it. Remember how you thought you might just feed one seagull? It never works out that way does it? These paintings are up for grabs on eBay. The link is at the top of the page. I hope you all have a wonderful week! I know I will~~doing what I want!!
