NEW SPRING PAINTINGS!
I am thinking spring even though we got 3 inches of snow here last night. It is almost all melted already this afternoon! I have been very busy with my paintings, staying up way too late! The first one is a little 4"X5" stretched canvas of a little girl with an armload of chicks. The words "peep...peep...peep..." continue all around the sides.
The second one is a naughty kitty checking on the progress of a nest of eggs. This is a 6"X6" deep sided stretched canvas. It has the words "Just Peeking...Honest...Just Peeking" written along the sides.
The last group is three 6"X6" flat canvas panels that actually coordinate together but are sold separately. They have lots of bright colors and heavy textures. The dresses remind me of some that my sisters and I had when we were little. I think my mom made them and they had little matching purses with golden cords. Mine was orange with mod flowers. Momma made many of our outfits when we were little. Sometimes she would even make jumpers or something out of of her old wool skirts. They were really itchy! Have a nice week everyone!

BACK TO PAINTING!
I haven't painted for awhile, because I was busy finishing up all those necklaces! But here are my latest creations. The first one is LOVE FOR MOMMY, and I really like the retro colors on this one. The second one is called SANDPAPER KISS, and if you have cats, you know what that means. I am heading over to eBay to list them both now. Either one would make a cute Mothers Day gift. Have a restful Sunday afternoon everyone!

BLOG WINNER!
My daughters and I had to take a break from watching all the extra features on the new TWILIGHT dvd to pull a name for my blog give away! The movie was fun and my daughters squealed through the whole thing. I think they are both in love with a vampire now, even though they both have very nice boyfriends! lol
Well back to the give away! The winner is the person making comment #6-----and that person is Gina of Cat Nap Inn Primitives! Gina, please contact me through eBay and give me your address and I will ship your handcrafted pendant to you right away!
Thank you to everyone for entering and for your support and friendship! Good Night!

BLOG GIVE AWAY IS STILL ON, AND SOME NEW NECKLACES TO BE LISTED!
There is still time to sign up for my blog give away on the previous post here! I will have my daughter pull a name out of a hat on Saturday, March 21 at 10 p.m. my time. My Mizzou baby is coming home for spring break tonight! Yippee!
In the meantime, I have been very busy making all these lovely necklaces using small prints of my original paintings. They are very difficult to photograph, especially the ones made with glass, but this will give you an idea of what they look like. The larger ones are glass and have some collaging or quotes on the back. The smaller ones have prints set in silver tone mini frames. They all are strung on cotton or leatherette cords with glass accent beads. I hope to post them on eBay soon. (It will take me forever to photograph and upload) I think they would make cute little Easter or Mother's Day's gifts. The smaller pendants could be worn by a child.

BLOG GIVE AWAY!
I am celebrating my one year anniversary of selling my artwork on eBay! With the encouragement of my youngest sister, Jennifer of Hot Tamale Art Studio, I put my first paintings up on eBay last March. I have sold many, many paintings since then---and more importantly, I have made countless friends all over the world--most of them are fellow artists! Thank you all for your friendship, help, and inspiration... Just this week, Jenny of Wonders of Whimsy designed my blog banner for me! Doesn't the new look of my blog look great? Thanks, Jenny!
My new blog banner inspired this necklace I made for the give away. It consists of a small print of some of my artwork glued on collage paper with some charcoal shading around the picture. It is sandwiched between two pieces of 1.5" X 1.5" glass and soldered together with lead free solder. I strung it on a 36" length of cotton cord (knotted at the end) along with some glass beads.
To enter, all you have to do is leave a comment on this blog! I will put all the names in a hat and have a family member pick one on Saturday, March 21. Thank you everyone for helping me celebrate! Good Luck!

PHOTO TAG AND 99 CENT SALE!
I was photo tagged by my sister Jennifer of Hot Tamale Art Studio. You are suppose to go to your 6th photo folder on your computer and pick your 6th picture and post it. This is a really goofy photo of my two daughters, Laura and Tara, that I think their friend took about 3 years ago. The whole folder is shots of them and their friends in the snow. Ahh, the age of digital cameras! I'm not sure I ever saw this one myself... Anyway, I'm not going to pass it on right now since I just tagged awards to a bunch of people last week.
$ 0.99 SALE!
I was cleaning out my art area today and decided to put a few paintings I still had hanging around on a 99 cent sale! Follow the eBay link at the top of my blog to check it out! I also re-listed a couple of paintings in my Etsy shop if there was something you saw recently that you liked, but didn't bid on. I plan to do some more painting this weekend and make a few more glass pendants this weekend! Have a great weekend!

SIGNS OF SPRING
Since it is still light when I get home from work now, I took a little walk in the yard and guess what I found? No, not paintings sprouting from the ground~~but these pretty purple crocuses! Now, about the paintings...
The first one is "Ms. Proper who seems just a tad annoyed that her kitty is so CLINGY today"!
The second one is a sweet angel enjoying a Spring day with a little bunny friend.
Both paintings have pretty pastel colors and would make thoughtful Easter gifts or decorations. I will be posting them on eBay later tonight, (when American Idol is over, lol). The link to my eBay is at the top of this page. Have a relaxing evening.

Two Awards!
Kreativ Blogger award
I have to list the 7 things I love and then 7 other people who I think deserve this award
1) Spending time with my family
2) Creating anything
3) Gardening
4) Eating Out (I don't get to as often as I would like!)
5) Working with children
6) Traveling (unfortunately, I don't get to do that very often either!)
7) Reading and learning new things
Now on to the 7 people (in no particular order) I think deserve this award, these are all blogs that I visit regularly and whose work always makes me smile.
Gina at Cat Nap Inn Primitives
Jennifer at Hot Tamale Art Studio
Suzi at Art...With a Touch of Whimsy
Also, a big THANK YOU you to Jenny of Wonders of Whimsy for giving me the Lemonade Award--which stands for great attitude and gratitude. I think we can all be grateful for her wonderful artwork and friendship-- as well as the awesome work she does trying to save the poor feral cats in Denver. If you are a cat lover, please check out her site, Alley Cat Rescue. You can help her cause by purchasing raffle tickets for one of her lovely handcrafted dolls until the end of March. Check it out!

Springtime!
It feels like springtime in Missouri this weekend. I just finished up 3 paintings today! They all have a "springtime" theme.
The first one is a cute old "grandpa kitty" enjoying the basket of tulips. He just looks like one of those 15+ year old kitties we have hanging around sometimes, doesn't he? The basket is made from very old sheet music of a song entitled "Merry May".
The second one is a sweet angel holding a spring lamb. This one has a crackle effect on the background with lots of antiquing.
The third one is three little kitties chasing butterflies. I stamped the words "jump for joy" above the collaged butterflies.
It has been in the 70's here the past couple of days. I found some crocuses blooming in my yard today. I can tell the pollen is out in full force---I can't stop sneezing! Have a wonderful rest of the weekend!

HURRY HOME
I hope everyone has had a nice weekend. I enjoyed having my daughter, Tara in town. We always have lots of fun together. Our family went out to eat Friday night and yesterday we paid visits to my parents and my sister Jennifer. In between all that I worked on this painting, finishing it today. I heading over to list it on eBay. Have a great week, everyone!
