Snow Day!

Yippee! I enjoyed a snow day today! Since I work for the public schools, I got an unexpected day to do as I please~~I finished up two painting that I started a while back. The first one is a large 11"X14" of a kitty with a bouquet of roses. There is lots of texture on this using layers of heavy acrylic and stamping for extra interest. The vase was created with vintage sheet music from an 1800's book. I seem to gravitate to these rich colors over and over when I paint!

The second painting is actually a 3D piece of art! I crafted a little fabric rose with felt leaves and sewed it right onto the canvas in the little girl's arms! Two little kittens frolic at her feet. I will be listing both of these on Ebay soon!

After a wonderful snowy day of doing what I want, I am going to settle in with some of my favorite things, an interesting documentary, an art book (just got from Amazon) and well...something else to warm the soul...Have a glorious evening!

Having a day off is rather wonderful isn't it? I like how you use the sheet music...so creative...as is sewing the rose on the painting...makes it a little different and a lot unique!

Oooo, I love the flower vase one! So neat. That documentary is a good one, if it is the one I saw. Liked it better than the movie. What a fun night planned. I am finally through the Lord of the Rings! Yeah!
