We spent the weekend in this wonderful cabin. My parents, 3 sisters and their families (except for one niece) were all there. There were no TV's, cell phone service or internet--it was pretty much in the middle of nowhere on a beautiful little lake. No worries though, we had plenty to entertain us. My son (on the chair) and niece and nephew played music for us, we had a fishing contest and relaxing rides on an old john boat. We had campfires at night and the teens even took the john boat out on fog covered lake under the moonlight. With their lanterns it looked like they were on their way to Hogwarts!

Except for my son touching an electric fence on a hike and my 22 year old niece getting bit by a copperhead (requiring a trip to the emergency room an hour or so away), it was a perfect weekend! Luckily she had her shoes on or the bite could have been much more venomous. It was fun reconnecting with all my family. I miss them already!

Looks like a wonderful spot to get away from it all! Thankfully your son and niece are okay after their encounters too.

I'm so glad you got the cards safely, thanks again for entering the contest.

Glad to hear the mishaps of electric fence and snake run ins didn't hurt the experience you had with your family. I would love to do this sometime and soak up that atmosphere. How fun

Looks and sounds like you had a wonderful getaway. It is nice to re-connect and get away from the everyday hussle and bussle of it all.

So sorry about the shock and bite, but glad it all turned out okay.
