Experimenting on a Rainy Weekend!

I have been experimenting with different techniques and styles of painting. Here are a couple of small canvases I finished. I used heavy bodied acrylics so you can see the brush strokes, making them look a lot like oil paintings.

The first one is kind of an impressionistic style. It is called "Let's Run Away". The girl reminds me of my niece, Kelsey, when she was little.

The second one is "Goldfinch and Coneflower" --a very popular pairing in my yard! I took a more realistic approach on this one. I hope to list both of these soon.

My Clearance Sale is still going on! Check out my Ebay auctions--most of my older paintings are still at 99 cents!

Oh I love the little girl walking with the cat. I thought right away it looked like Kelsey except for the red hair.

I clicked to make them larger to take in all the yummy brush strokes and "feel" a bit more of what it might be like to view them in person....

The little girl running away is wonderful....off to have an adventure in the dark, magical woods....so cute!!

Love the girl and cat and the Goldfinch on cornflower! I like the thicker acrylic that looks like oil! I must go check out your eBay!

Sorry I've been sick...I finally got to my mail box and found my mermaid medallion...thank you so much...I love it as does my granddaughter. I'll probably give it to her when she and grandson are a little older! (He tends to put things he finds in his mouth now...wouldn't want him to choke!)
