Experimenting Again

I love to experiment with different techniques and art supplies. I used layers of paint with structure gel and torn pages of a vintage book. for the extra texture on this painting of Frida. I like how it almost looks like an old plaster wall. I just listed this on Ebay tonight.

Colorful Christmas

Although I love snow, Christmas isn't all about snow, especially in other parts of the world! I couldn't resist painting this bright and colorful Christmas Frida picture. This is a 4"X5"X.75" stretched canvas and the cheerful poinsettias continue around the sides of the painting. I listed it on Ebay yesterday if you would like to check it out. I would love to see a place where poinsettias grow naturally! I bet that is beautiful.

My Sister Frida

Ok, so I invited my sisters over for a margarita by the pool, and this is how Jennifer Hot Tamale Art Studio showed up! Those of you in the folk art community know who Frida Kahlo is! Anyway, it got a good laugh out of me. As you can see from the first picture, Jen had a very hard time keeping a straight face for the photo! She had to wash off the unibrow pretty quickly because her 4 year old did NOT like it one bit! Well, we had a good afternoon, I hope you all did!
