LONGING

I guess I have been feeling melancholy this weekend, maybe because I have been sick. On this painting I was playing with light and shadow. This young lady is gazing longingly out the window. Is she longing for spring or a lost love? You decide.

Is everyone getting kind of sick of winter out there? In a way I am, but then again, spring around here is SO much work. I have lots of landscaping and gardens to take care of, tons of outdoor furniture and a pool to deal with. Once it is all done, I love it! It's a good thing that I am off of work in the summers to take care of everything, otherwise I would never be able to keep up. I don't mind "hibernating" a little longer!

How sad. Maybe she's waiting for her teenager to come home from driving.

Oh, I love it. I think she is longing for a lost lost and is hoping for some news from Mr. birdie!

Come on! She says. Let it be spring already! The crocuses I planted last fall are starting to come up. Here in Denver, it really has not been that bad. It feels like a long spring which is my favorite season. Don't be sad. Something tells me I'm in for something good!

Hi Cris! I love both of your latest paintings. Their expressions of longing is beautiful. I say this young beauty is longing for a lost love.

Thanks for coming to visit! To answer your question: Gesso does in fact give a nice texture. Depending on the thickness you apply, the gesso gives you a great surprise when it dries. Have fun using it.

Hugs,
Lisa

I agree...just a bit more hibernating. Not ready to put shorts on again yet. :(
Thanks for taking the time to watch my son's band video. (he's the lead singer).
Love the new painting. She looks extra sad so I'm thinking it's lost love.
