Another Favorite Saint

We had a snow day this week so I was able to catch up on some of my painting! I have another saint painting...this one is St. Cecilia--the patron saint of musicians. We have several musicians in our family, so St. Cecilia is important to me!

The second painting is called Fox Moon. It is a little larger than I usually paint (12" X 16") but I wanted the drama of the wide expanse of snow. There is a bit of glitter in the moon's path for a magical look. I love when I see a lonely fox traveling across one of the snow covered fields around here at night. I always wonder what they are up to and why they had to travel so far! Both of these paintings will be on Ebay tonight. As always, the link is at the top of this page~

You know Cecelia is Helen's confirmation name. Oh gosh I love that fox painting. How come you never see a fox walking - always running.

I always picture foxes running through the snow like that. I think that is one of my favorite scenes on "The Snowman". I am glad Jordan liked "The Country Boys" Very interesting, huh.

My first exposure to St. Ceceilia was a few years ago when I visited the catacombs outside Rome. They had a lying down marble statue of her where her hands had two fingers out on one hand and one on the other. They said even as she was put to death she was defying her executioners and asserting her christain will by displaying the trinity. I loved that story and I love your "living" painting of her! Little foxy is adorable also with his moon shadow!
