Of Redbud Trees and Proms...

The Redbud trees are so beautiful right now if you live in my part of the country! I have been enjoying the pinkish glow they give my yard. My husband and I planted them as tiny saplings many years ago. I love the gnarled pattern of the branches and how the limbs are like arms reaching almost horizontally to feel the warm spring sunshine.

I was inspired to paint "In the Redbud Tree" because my children always loved to sit in them since their sprawling limbs made it easy to do. I will list it on Ebay tonight. The link is at the top of the page.

Yesterday was my son's prom. I snapped this quick photo as he was rushing down the sidewalk to his car to pick up his date. I was working in the yard and he came out with his tux on and said, "I'm leaving!" Wow...after having two daughters attend the prom--I can tell you boys are MUCH easier for this sort of thing!!

I love that gorgeous tree in your painting Cris! And, your real one as well. Pink is so pretty in trees like a giant rosebush. What a handsome son....I hope he had a great time! : )
