A Commission Piece

My friend commissioned this piece for her son who recently sold his beloved St. Louis home to move to the suburbs with his wife and new baby girl. This is an 1890's era painted brick home in the Soulard neighborhood of St. Louis, right across from the famed Anheuser Busch brewery. It was fun to do!

New Paintings

These are my latest paintings. The first one is a still life of Roses in a glass jar. The second one is something I like to do from time to time. I enjoy looking at vintage photos and then paint my impressions of them. Of course they are all black and white, so that gives me the liberty of guessing the colors. This one is my Aunt Judy on her honeymoon in 1957. They stayed in a cabin at the Lake of the Ozarks. The bumper sticker indicates that they visit Marvel Cave on their trip. I asked her what color the 1950 Ford was, and it was indeed white. Unfortunately, it was stolen a few weeks later when they moved to Norfolk, Virginia where my Uncle Dave shipped out as a Navy man. The still life is available on my Ebay auction. The link is at the top of this page.

This latest painting is called "Loaf Cat and Tulips". I call this cat pose the loaf, as in a loaf of bread. This is an 8"X10" stretched canvas available on Ebay. The link is at the top of this page.

 This second painting is based on Vermeer's Girl with the Pearl Earring. In my version, she has a cat to love. This is available on Ebay too.

This was a custom painting for a baby shower. The couple is expecting a girl in June. They have a bulldog at home and the daddy is proud of his Irish roots. If you would like a custom painting like this, message me thru Ebay. Thank you!

impressionist styles

I have been experimenting with painting in an impressionistic style. It is fun to try new things. The first painting is based on an old photo of my grandma in the 40's. Of course I had to guess at the colors!  The second painting was a memory of a happy site when my son was attending college in Kansas City. This was the train bringing him home to the Kirkwood, Missouri station. Both of these paintings are available on Ebay by typing "folk art cris" in the search bar.

Back in the Swing of Things!

Here are my latest paintings. I am finally getting back into the swing of things after the holidays. I have been a bit obsessed with foxes lately and like to imagine them having parties in my yard at night. ha ha You can find both of these paintings on ebay; FOX PARTY and BIG YELLOW CAT .
