ANGEL OF 4

Can you tell that I like painting kitties? Here is an 8"X10" stretched canvas I worked on today. The little angel is trying hard to give attention to each of the little kitties, but they are getting a bit impatient! The calico is playing with the angel's long hair and the gray tiger and doing that rub and purr thing they do! This one could be used for a Christmas decoration or left out all year if you like angels! There is some sparkle on the angel's gown and pearl and metallic on her wings and halo.

I hope everyone had a nice weekend. Ours was busy, but nice. I only have 2 days of school this week, so I am looking forward to the break! Lots of family time, eating, sleeping and decorating. Jordan will be marching and playing his drum in the St. Louis Thanksgiving Day Parade so we may glimpse him on TV.

Oh this is "a"dorable!
I am excited about this week too.
I get to spend the holiday by my little own artistic self.
I am going to BUST out the paints to be sure! Or maybe go on a photographic journey!
Not sure yet~

Kitty cuteness. Thank you for your advice. My son is 7. He is doing much better after much patience and consistence on our part. Whew. We are waiting for a call from a Dr. I agree they help a whole bunch.

I love your art!~
I have been painting since I was 11~
I am 48 now~ I don't know if I would trade all that I have taught myself in art~ to go back to the innocence that I see in your work.~ I really cannot, because I have learned to much.~ I think Matisse said something like "it took me 4 years to be a master~ & a lifetime to paint like a child." something like that. Anyway~
At this point in my art I am still searching. ~
Maybe that's what it is all about~

Cris,

I love all of your cats!

Amy, I know exactly what you mean, not that I am much of an artist, but when I look at some of the art that my children do, I think wow, such sweetness and simplicity. I think that is what you can find in Cris's work that sweetness. It makes everyone go awwww. That I guess, is what folk art is all about.

~Yes adzactly~

It is art that is filled with so much joy~
And I worry that my art has lost something over the years~ trying to make everything all perfect~
So, now I am searching for ways to bring back that freshness.
